Feel Well
Mental Wellness is one of five action areas for health promotion in PEI.
Mental health includes our social, emotional, and psychological well-being. It is also closely linked with our physical health.
Mental wellness is our "internal resource that helps us think, feel, connect, and function; it is an active process that helps us to build resilience, grow, and flourish". It important at all life stages, from childhood right through to adulthood.
Supportive physical and social environments (such as our homes, work places, schools, and communities) are critical for supporting population mental wellness. These environments are largely shaped by health-promoting public policies and can have a positive impact on the health of Islanders at all different levels: people, community, and society.
