Breathe Well
Tobacco reduction is one of five strategic action areas for health promotion in PEI. Reducing the number of Islander residents who smoke is key to lowering the incidence of chronic disease and early death in our province. Reducing the number of Island residents who smoke also has many other social, environmental, and financial benefits. Our approach to reduce the health harms of smoking focuses on the three pillars of tobacco control: prevention, cessation, and protection. Tobacco reduction can have a positive impact on the health of Islanders at all different levels: people, community, and society.
