Shawn Martin (he/him) does policy work in PEI's Chief Public Health Office, with a focus on substance use and public health. Before working in policy, Shawn gained frontline experience working as a counsellor/therapist in community addictions and mental health. This has helped connect policy to practice, ensuring that policy work leads to positive, concrete outcomes for people and communities. Shawn's policy experience includes public health, addictions and mental health, agriculture, and land. Shawn is a social worker by trade with a Masters of Social Work from the University of Waterloo. Shawn enjoys spending time with family, staying active, reading, playing music, and curling.
