Eat Well
Healthy eating is one of five strategic action areas for health promotion in PEI. Islanders who have a healthy diet are less likely to have dietary deficiencies and lower rates of chronic diseases like obesity and diabetes. Islanders with a healthy diet also tend to have improved mental health and overall higher rates of wellbeing. Barriers to eating a healthy diet can include access to healthy food, food costs and limited food skills. Healthy eating positively impacts the health of individuals, as well as having broader benefits for communities and society as a whole.
